Fishing is a popular activity for many visitors in Gatlinburg TN. However, many people do not know that a fishing license is required for residents and non residents coming to Gatlinburg TN and even all of Tennessee age 13 and older. Any person under the age of 13 in entitled to the same limits as adults and must obey all other rules. For non-residents of Tennessee, the 3-day fishing permit is $10.50 and a daily permit for Gatlinburg TN $10.50. You can also get a combined permit for Gatlinburg and the National Park for $20.50. Fishing in Gatlinburg is permitted from half an hour before sunrise and half an hour after sunset. After you have purchased your Gatlinburg fishing permit you are allowed to fish the following rivers: the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River, LeConte Creek, Roaring Fork Creek and Dudley Creek. Located in downtown Gatlinburg TN is a haunted house that is worth the money. Ripley’s Haunted Adventure is a haunted house. The story goes that the building used to be an old casket factory that was built over an old cave. The cave was supposedly haunted. Strange things would happen at night and people disappeared. The factory was closed after the two owners mysteriously disappeared. Ripley’s bought the old factory and turned it into a haunted house.

After you buy your tickets you are put with a group and sent up an old elevator. You are met at the top by a scary looking man who leads you into the casket room and he explains the rules. You and your group walk through the house by yourselves. The person in front has no idea where they are going and just hopes that he makes his way out. The rest you will have to experience. Gatlinburg TN – During the month of March business owners and residents will spend time cleaning Gatlinburg and preparing the city for tourist peak season. Sparkle Day’s 2007, what Gatlinburg TN is calling this year’s event, has been scheduled for March 19 – 30. During Sparkle days, just like the previous 27 years, the Gatlinburg TN sanitation department will pick up, for free, items that are not normally included in garbage pickup. Scrap metal, appliances, weather debris, and even old junky cars will be picked up. All you need to do it place the garbage on a Gatlinburg TN city street and the city will do the rest. The only thing that the city will not pick up is debris from remolding, demolition projects, tires and old paint. Like most years in the past, the first week of Sparkle Days will be used for commercial pick up, and the second week will be used for residential pick up. Residential pick starts on March 26. Anyone who is interested in scheduling a pick up time should call the Gatlinburg TN sanitation department at 436-5959. Lastly, the Gatlinburg recreation department is trying to encourage residents to join together in large pick up groups. These groups can pick up large scale trash bags from the department. The Manger, in Gatlinburg TN, will open March 16, 2007 in the old Pioneer Inn restaurant. This location has been vacant for 10 years. The Manger will be open on Fridays and Saturdays. It will also be open for Sunday morning preaching and Wednesday night preaching. The preaching will be done by Bise’s son Brian.

"This is kind of a spin-off from the television program," Bise said. "They can walk in from all states, countries, sizes, colors and ages and sit down in a nice environment, drink coffee and eat pastries, and tell their God stories and testimonies. And what better name than The Manger, where it all started.”

"It's a very relaxed atmosphere," Bise said. "It's not a church - we don't have anything in the box where you have a song or a sermon. People just walk in off the streets. It's kind of like a coffeehouse and witness-and-worship center."
