vacation to

The first part of July is the Independence Day holidays. There are

They do a huge firework show that you can see from any place in
downtown Gatlinburg. They usually start them around midnight on the
3rd and bring in the 4th with explosions of colors going off in the
starry mountain skies. On July 4th they have a parade to celebrate
the nation’s birthday. Also on July 4th they have a “River Raft
Regatta” for anyone who wants to submit their small homemade rafts
for a race down the Little Pigeon River.
They also have a Smokey Mountain Tunes and Tales festival that lasts
all month. Go through downtown and you’ll hear live entertainment as
performers sing for you, play instruments, dance and there are many
who are dressed in costume who will tell you tales, sing to you and
tell you the folk lore of the mountains. The Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s
Fair will also take place for a week in July. Anyone who has an
appreciation for arts and crafts would enjoy this fair. There are
more than 150 booths set up displaying local artisans works. Many do
demonstrations at their booth and there are many pieces of their
works for sale. Take a piece of the mountains home with you.
Since the weather is so beautiful during this time of year one can
enjoy many outdoor activities. There are many trails you can take a
bike ride, walk, hike, etc. on and there are also cool rivers for
you to enjoy kayaking, canoeing, swimming, tubing, etc. in. The
outdoor activities give you a chance to get outside and have some
fun while creating memorable experiences with your loved ones. Not
only will you have fun but it would do you some good with the fresh
mountain air and exercising you can get out of playing outside.
