June in Gatlinburg TN

School’s out for the summer and people are heading to Gatlinburg Tennessee. June is one of the most popular months to visit Gatlinburg TN and there are no questions as to why. The first 2 weeks of June aren’t as busy as the latter part of June though. The weather is very comfortable at this point in time. There are a lot of activities for you to do outdoors that will keep you busy during your stay as well as the infamous attractions scattered in Gatlinburg. June is the best month to visit and make memories with your family or friends and hopefully you will make vacationing in Gatlinburg TN a yearly tradition.

There are over 30 major Gatlinburg attractions to do all year. However, the beautiful weather of June makes the time spent at these attractions more enjoyable. There are many places for entertainment and amusements, places to see the culture in Gatlinburg, and many outdoor sports and recreations to do. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is always a great place to go see while on your vacation in Gatlinburg, TN. June adds to the fun though. The chances for spotting bears, deer, and other animals that would otherwise be hiding in the winter months are higher. The scenery is alive with color from the bright flowers, green grass and tall trees. Around the National Park are rivers and if the level of the water is high enough rafting, tubing and kayaking can be enjoyed. The cool waters will be a welcomed treat from the warm temperatures.

There’s always some type of event going on during each month and June is no exception. The Smoky Mountain Springfest ends during the first week of June. This is a continuation of a celebration that has been going on for the past couple of months. They are still celebrating the flowers and arts of the Spring. This event features local artists selling and doing demonstrations of their artwork. There are still sales going on in some of the stores and along the sidewalks live entertainment is there for your enjoyment. Starting in mid-June the annual Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tale starts. Performers entertain and act out stories for you along the Parkway. Some will even be in full costume. Music, tall-tales and performances can be enjoyed by all. The actors bring stories from the 1800’s to life as a special treat for you during June. For the History buffs amongst the travelers the Civil War Reenactment will be fun for you to watch. Many performers reenact the Battle of Burg Hill for anyone to watch. Their performance is in full costume and is very educational to watch while being entertaining as well.

Many people flock to Gatlinburg TN during June on their family vacations or summer adventure with their friends. Whatever your reason may be for taking a trip to Gatlinburg is we’re sure you won’t be disappointed. Gatlinburg has many attractions, shops, entertainment, restaurants and other things to do it’s impossible not to enjoy your trip to this part of TN.
