The weather is not to hot and not too cold, it’s perfect. You can walk through downtown Gatlinburg without freezing or breaking a sweat. Flowers from the Springfest festival are still decorating downtown and lighting up the scenery. Everything is green and colorful and you can feel Spring in the air. May also brings the Scottish Festival and Games as well as the Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival.

Springfest will continue all month in celebration for the Spring weather. It’s the perfect time to take your loved ones on a nature walk. Throughout downtown you can see pansies, daffodils, tulips, petunias, etc. and the Arts and Crafts community will have plenty of Springtime gifts to take back home. The Scottish Games and Festivals is also in May! All Scots are invited to march in the parade or have a ride in the parade. Scottish games will be held on a weekend and is sure to be a lot of fun for you or your family to participate or just to watch. You’ll be able to witness Scottish dancing, competitions, border collie competitions, whiskey tasting, etc. The Scottish Games and Festivals are always fun. There will also be places for you to shop Scottish merchandise and food. Don’t miss out on your chance to buy that kilt you’ve been wanting.

Also held during the month of May is the Gatlinburg Fine Arts Festival. Join everyone as they listen to live entertainment, browse through artists demonstrations and eat delicious food. What could be greater than all of that with the Smokey Mountains in the background? This festival helps to benefit the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. They will be giving away $5000 worth of prizes and you might just be the recipient of one of those prizes.
