You can also enjoy the mountainous scenery by skiing outside. The base elevation at Ober Gatlinburg is 2,700 feet and while you’re at the top you stand 3,300 feet above sea level. The ski resort has 8 skiing trails to choose from. Seven of the trails at Ober Gatlinburg are tree-lined and one is an open trail. The longest trail at the resort is almost a mile long. When it gets cold enough, all of the trails are covered with snow by the snow making equipment. The slopes are very well taken care of with the latest technology so you can enjoy a smooth ride. If you are a beginning skier you can take lessons on how to ski safely and rent equipment if you don’t have your own. If you are not into skating or skiing, you can take a scenic ride on the chairlift. You just sit and relax while gazing at the beautiful view of Gatlinburg. When you arrive at the top, your photo is taken, for a small fee of $6.00 a person, so that you can remember your trip.

Ober Gatlinburg has a lot more to offer than just a ski resort though. There is also an amusement park! The amusement park has everything from slides to go karts to water rides and miniature golf. There are also water rides and a bungee run.
