Most people enjoy the mountains in the winter months because of the beautiful ski slopes. Gatlinburg TN is home to one some of the nicest ski slopes. Ober Gatlinburg is a ski resort that everyone can enjoy. Ober Gatlinburg ski resort accommodates for beginners, intermediate and even the more advanced skiers.

The base elevation at Ober Gatlinburg is 2,700 feet and while you’re at the top you stand 3,300 feet above sea level. There are eight trails which have ski lifts to get you to the top of the mountain. Seven of the trails at Ober Gatlinburg are tree-lined and one is an open trail. The longest trail at the resort is almost a mile long. The chair lifts can carry up to 6,000 people each hour. At night in Gatlinburg TN all but one trail are open for some night time skiing.

If you are a beginning skier you can take lessons and rent equipment if you don’t have your own. Ober Gatlinburg also has snowmaking machines just in case the temperature is not cold enough for real snow. Also at Ober Gatlinburg you can take advantage of the dining and ski shops located inside Ober Gatlinburg. Also enjoy a little indoor ice skating and have fun with some arcade games.
