What to do in April 2007
In Gatlinburg TN, there are many activities that you can enjoy during the month April. While staying in your own cabin, atop the beautiful Smoky Mountains, you will be within minutes of downtown Gatlinburg – and an array of exciting events to keep you busy during your stay in the Smokies.
From March 14 until June 10, our guests will be able to enjoy Springfest, all over the city of Gatlinburg. Here, you will be able to enjoy the arts, entertainment, history, and of course food. As a part of Springfest, many different festivals and events are held all over Gatlinburg, TN, where you can experience first hand the culture of the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
During the week of April 4 until the 7, visitors will be able to experience Arts and Crafts Community Easter Arts and Crafts Show. Located in the northeastern section of Gatlinburg, the largest group of craftsmen from around the country gather to display their work in a spectacular exhibit you won’t want to miss. What’s even better, this exhibition is entirely free for the whole family!
Another exciting event taking place during the month of April in the Smoky Mountains is Gatlinburg’s annual Ribfest and Wings, which takes place across from the Hard Rock Café in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee. While you are there, you can join a hot, tasty experience in their Hot Wing Eating Contest; or enjoy the free show, played by the Marshall Tucker Band. Take your kids to have their face painted or to get balloon animals after you enjoy the show! (Cost for the entire festival is only $10, and the events last from 4 p.m. til 9 p.m.)
After you enjoy the excitement of the downtown Gatlinburg festivals, make your way on over to the great Smoky Mountain National Park, where you can view the scenery of the 57th Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage, going on from April 23 until April 29. Take a pleasant walk amongst the wildflowers or just relax and have a picnic in the peace and quiet of the Smoky Mountain National Park.
