Gatlinburg TN has become
a popular place to visit and April is no exception. The flowers are
blooming, birds are chirping and springtime is in the air. The Springfest continues throughout April. The streets have plants and
colorful flowers to add color to downtown Gatlinburg Tennessee.
The Arts and Crafts Community have their annual show during April.
The sculptors, artisans, and woodcarvers of the Arts and Crafts
Community hold the shows to display their works. You can watch as
they craft, carve and paint. They make candles, pottery, quilts,
clothes, purses, paintings, etc. and bring them to the show for you
to look at and possibly purchase. Watch as they make crafts right in
front of you. Find something you like and take a truly unique piece
of
Gatlinburg TN home with you.
Also in the month of April the city of Gatlinburg TN holds the
annual Ribfest & Wings Festival. They will have live entertainment
and activities to do while you roam around and taste the different
restaurants wings and ribs. They will have drinks for you to buy as
well. Awards for the best ribs or wings in 6 different categories
will be given out and then a “People’s Choice Award” will be given
based on your opinions. You have an option of two different types of
“admission” you can purchase. They have an armband that allows you
to eat as much as you want as long as samples are still available or
you can do a “buck for a bone or two wings”.
The weather is warmer in April. There is no need for a jacket this
month. Jeans and t-shirts will do and many outdoor activities are
open for the spring months. You can take a trip out to the rivers
and raft, tube, or kayak. For the less daring you can wade in the
water, swim, fish, etc. Places are open to horseback ride through
the mountains and valleys. You could go on an ATV adventure or a
nature hike. There are so many activities to choose from.
