As August comes so does school and summer fades into fall. While
the weather is still warm you should take that vacation and get away
to the Smoky Mountains before everything starts getting crazy again.

There will be a lot of events and activities still going on in
August as well. The Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales being one of
those events. If you hadn’t been in town to see the street
performances given by these actors and singers then it’s a great
thing to see. Hear stories of the “old days” of settling Gatlinburg
in the 1800’s by local performers dressed in full costume reflecting
on the time period. This continues through August. You can also walk
through downtown and visit many of the attractions along the
Parkway. Stop by Ripley’s Believe it or Not auditorium and head off
to the Amazing Mirror Maze across the street. You should also take a
day trip to the Aquarium and look at all the marine animals they
have for you to see. At night take a ride on the Ski Lift to see the
beauty of Gatlinburg lights when the sun starts to go down. Of
course there’s always the Smoky Mountain National Park to visit on
your trip as well. You can make a day trip out of that! Cade’s Cove
is a short drive away as well. Drive through the 8+ mile one way
road and look at the beauty of the wildlife and the scenery. It’s a
great place for picture taking as well!
Many people believe summer is the best time of year to visit
Gatlinburg TN. There are more
people on the weekends so to avoid larger crowds try visiting during
the weekdays. The weather is in the mid 70’s- 80’s. Sun is shining,
rivers are flowing and there’s no need to worry about freezing
